You are a creative and result-oriented Programme Communication Advisor who supports our award-winning global programme ‘Can’t Wait to Learn’, that strives to improve the educational achievement and psychosocial wellbeing of children affected by armed conflict. The programme utilises custom gaming technology to deliver quality education in Lebanon, Jordan, South Sudan and Uganda and is planning to expand to other countries. The programme Communication Advisor is responsible for the global branding of the program, identifying brand opportunities, positioning the program for international program expansion and providing strategic communication advice as well as practical support hands-on to the program director and team. In short, you are a thinker and a doer!

You are part of the Communication and Advocacy team and report to the team Director; you work closely with the Director of ‘Can’t Wait to Learn’ and its programme team in Amsterdam and globally.

Your Challenge

· Increase global brand awareness and trust in War Child and the ‘Can’t Wait to Learn’ programme

· Develop and implement a B2B communication strategy to increase awareness of the ‘Can’t Wait to Learn’ with potential donors and partners

· Identify opportunities for branding, in particular in countries where War Child is not yet established as an organisation and translate those into program and communication initiatives

· Pro-actively support the expansion and strengthening of the programme’s network of contacts and partners

· Co-create content (copy, visuals, video script) in close cooperation with the communication and Can’t Wait to Learn teams, studio, partner organisations and a network of freelancers

· Facilitate the information flow between the program, internal stakeholders and potential donors and partner organisations

· Support competency building of the communication team and relevant project country offices on increasing brand awareness and the implementation of a B2B communication strategy

· Produce effective communication materials as part of the B2B communication strategy.

Your Profile

· Academic background in communication and/or marketing

· Minimum 5 years of work experience as communication advisor, with focus on branding and B2B communications

· Well-developed network and excellent knowledge of the international development and humanitarian aid sector

· Strong advisory skills

· Proven track record in the production of creative and impactful content

· Excellent verbal and writing skills in English; knowledge of Dutch, French and Arabic is a benefit

· Strong relation building and diplomacy skills

· Flexibility and (cultural and organisational) sensitivity

· Creative and result-oriented

· Cost aware and stress resistant

· Available for 32 hours per week

· EU national or eligible to live and work in EU.

Our offer

• Salary range from €2993 to €3872 gross per month, based on 40 hours per week (the exact step determined by the years of your relevant working experience)

• 26 vacation days (based on 40 hours per week), plus 2 additional free days
