War Child is looking for: 

Child Protection & Psychosocial Trainer based in Nicosia, Cyprus 

Experienced in child safety & protection and passionate about delivering psychosocial support’ 

 

This is national position based within the EU with national labour conditions. War Child Syria strives to build local capacity as much as possible. 

 

War Child Programme for Syria 

War Child (WCH) is a learning organisation that continuously enhances its services to children affected by war and conflict. This includes striving to become a networked expert organisation able to mobilise and provide services and technical assistance within and outside the organisation, as well as across programme teams in various in-country offices. 

 

War Child has been responding to the needs of Syrian children. The programme is expanding and is in need of professional supervision as well as an entrepreneurial spirit to further grow the programme. 

 

Your Challenge 

The Child Protection & Psychosocial (CP / PSS) Trainer is responsible for developing and delivering remote training to partners, building partner capacity and supporting the technical department in monitoring implementation quality. 

  • Work closely with the PSS and CP Advisors to develop and contextualise the training course material. 

  • Develop & foster good relations with partners to aid effective training and implementation. 

  • Deliver training courses to partners, via Webex, on PSS and CP methodologies (possibility for face to face sessions where feasible). 

  • Compile reports on training sessions and capacity of partners and create an action plan to follow up on areas of technical implementation / additional training needs. 

  • Keep up to date on the context and explore other trainings that are available in and outside of War Child. 

 

Your Profile 

  • Relevant Degree.  

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in Child Protection or Pyschosocial fields.  

  • Experience of delivering training (remotely if possible) and strong understanding of adult learning pathways. 

  • Proven facilitation skills 

  • Previous experience working with children/refugees/vulnerable populations. 

  • Fluency in Arabic and English, both verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Eligibility to work in the EU would be preferred / is desirable.

Job Location: Cyprus, based in Nicosia, with some travel to neighboring countries. 

Contract: The contract for is for at least 1 year with the intention to prolong.
